You have  examined two different pieces of artistic expression -- a painting, and a poem -- in the context of their history, noting how the events of World War I influenced the artist, the author.  Now it's your turn.

Your task:  Using what you know about a soldier's life in World War I, you will produce a document that shows your audiences the challenges the soldiers faced and the emotions they struggled with.  You will do this through a RAFT, a writing exercise that allows you to choose your role, your audience, your format, and your topic.
